Meet Greg Colt

J. McGregor "Greg" Colt is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Oregon & Washington with over thirty five years of experience in the real estate business in the Pacific Northwest.

Greg began his career, after completing an education in Communications at the University of Washington in 1972, working as a land sales agent in Tacoma, Washington.

Within four years his success enabled him to co-found his own company and move to Seattle. That company, COLT, PTAK & JONES, INC., developed and sold over 100,000 acres of land throughout Oregon and Washington over the following decade.

In 1982 Greg sold his interest in this firm and moved to Zermatt, Switzerland for a two year mid-life break. He returned to Seattle and went to work as an Associate Broker with THE SHERWOOD GROUP, a dominant commercial real estate brokerage specializing in shopping center development and leasing.

While working with THE SHERWOOD GROUP Greg assisted with the acquisition of 20 Target Stores in the I-5 corridor and completed the assemblage of an entire city block in the Seattle CBD.

In 1992 Greg moved to the Columbia River Gorge and founded COLT REALTY GROUP, INC. which soon became a dominant real estate brokerage in the Mid Columbia region with offices in Goldendale, Washington; Lyle, Washington and Hood River, Oregon.

After 15 successful years Greg sold his business to John L. Scott in September of 2007 and took a year long break to spend time with his children.

Since January 1, 2009 Greg has been operating as COLT LISTING SERVICE, LLC. Although Greg’s main focus is commercial real estate brokerage he also provides a discount listing service to spec home builders and land developers. Greg was selected to be the Broker of Record for the City of Hood River on February 23, 2009.
